Massage & Yoga I have been wheelchair bound for 25 years. At age 20 I sustained 2 fractures to my cervical vertebrae at Cervical 2 & Cervical 6, as well as fracturing both my arms. As a result of the spinal cord damage from these fractures I have been an incomplete quadriplegic since 1994. I have used a manual wheelchair since that time because of the importance of maintaining muscle movement, increased blood flow benefiting both circulation and cardiovascular as well as the added respiratory benefits. However, as a result of overuse of my arms and shoulders as well as long hours of sitting over the last 25 years I have acquired a considerable amount of strain on my shoulders, elbows, and hands, as well as in my lower lumbard and thoracic spine areas of my back resulting in issues of chronic pain. Additionally I am a recovering drug addict / alcoholic of 25 years and do not take anything for pain with the exception of some occasional tylenol or alleve as I prefer the most homeopathic natural approach to addressing my issues of pain through prayer, meditation, diet, and exercise. I am writing to endorse Suzanne as a massage therapist, Yoga instructor, and healer. Her therapeutic interventions in my life over the course of the last few months have assisted me in improving my pain management, respiration through breathing exercises, thai massage, and assisted yoga have all helped increase my physical endurance as well as helping reduce my depressive symptoms and manage my chronic pain. Her instruction of meditative yoga postures, stretching, shiatsu massage, and deep tissue massage have also helped to improve my overall wellbeing. Suzanne's therapeutic interventions have been very healing and a valuable preventative medicine. I recommend her services to anyone struggling with chronic pain, physical, mental & or emotional disability. After our first session I literally felt as if she had removed 50 pounds of stress from my back and shoulders! She has been a blessing!
